Jeremy Lookofsky Interview

Name: Jeremy Lookofsky
Date of Birth: 06/ 11/ 1976
Hometown: Northridge, CA.
Nickname: L’Natural / Big Baller

So when did you first get picked up by DVS?

O.G. Encino Office days. 2000
Flow Team / Product & More Product

What were you driving then?

88 CRX . That’s the car, how L'Natural all began.
We held the worlds fastest title with that car for 2 years. 10.68 @ 130mph

All motor back then too right?
All Motor. It was unheard of to have such a fast car back in early 2001.
After having this title, we started building our current car that we run now in 2003 which back then we called L'Natural 2

When was the official birth of the DVS Civic?

Offical Birth was the 2004 Race Season as Title Sponsor
It had a Skate theme on the car and Daewon was the talk of import world .
Back in the day he was a street racer. A few DVS riders involved in the cars.
Mike Taylor is the newest to the breed.

What was the 1st big accomplishment for the DVS Civic?
One of a kind First Full Tube Chassis All Motor Car on the circuit,
Taking things to another level. Carbon Body, Carbon Floors.

Straight out of the gate when it was first unveiled?

It was built off a jig and Carbon Body. Never started off as a Unibody car like the CRX. Its intentions were to go out and lay up another number since we could get the car 200lbs lighter then the old car. A lot of those dreams were held back by weight penalties for having such an advantage over other teams.
Just now other teams are stepping up into cars like what we have now.

Where does the civic stand now in the ranks?

Top 3. We have been battling big corporate teams this past year. We have been working on a new motor combo for 06 season on our off time this past season.
Something to hold back the high dollar teams.

Greatest moment ever?

Oh yeah shut them down. A lot of people wonder what the hell I do for a living since I am always playing with toys. I tell them that’s my job, Make shit work and look pimp.
Our new shop is Called Drag Cartel Inspired by all the people we have over- thrown threw out the years. And for the few that think I’m a drug dealer, hahaha,
fuck you.

How close do you think the team is to setting yet another record and running 9’s in competition?
I believe its right around the corner. We have our world Finals this coming weekend in Pomona and that’s my goal to end the year with that 9-second time slip. Something to come back to in 06 with a new motor combo and smash the current record held by Skunk 2 Racing.

What’s in the not so distant future for Jeremy Lookofsky and the DVS Civic?
I want to be a team owner and hire a team.
Team.
Driver.
Mechanic.
I want to focus on projects, custom cars / new personal race car.
Until then ill just keep working hard and having fun.
Working with podium is always a challenge . My job title is to make my Boss BD happy. Haha. Always some shit to fix or build, I think I have worked on almost 80% of podium cars.

What would you tell other racers out there who are debating between going turbo or doing it L’Natural?
It’s all about Budget. I personally love N/A (naturally aspirated) cars but wouldn’t mind building a turbo streetcar for some fun. No better felling, killing turbo cars
Hahaha.

Any special thanks?

Special Thanks of course the Podium Family, Crew, Family, and all the sponsors that make it happen.
